Meet Jaden Fok – Founder of The Counter Math Academy

I’m Jaden Fok, an NUS graduate and dedicated math tutor since 2008. With over 15 years of experience, I’ve guided countless students from struggling learners to confident achievers. My first student has even grown up and started their own family—proof that the lessons learned here last a lifetime.
Beyond tutoring, I run a successful IT business, giving me a unique edge in teaching. I integrate technology into lessons, making learning interactive, efficient, and relatable for today’s digital-savvy students. I am also proud to contribute to the education sector as a published author of math assessment books with CPD Singapore and will soon launch my own Primary 1–6 math series to further help students across Singapore.

Our Mission

To empower students who struggle with math by building their
confidence. To push average students to become top performers. To create
a supportive, motivating environment where every effort is valued.

Our Vision

Our vision is to inspire and equip every student to love and excel in math, creating a future where all students, regardless of their starting point, feel empowered to succeed.

Our Philosophy

Success in math is like a counterattack in football—it’s about turning defense into offense. The π symbol in our logo represents conquering even the most challenging math concepts. Once students overcome these challenges, they realize they can achieve anything.

Personalized Attention

Personalized Attention

Tailored lessons to suit each student's learning level, whether they need extra support with the basics or want to challenge themselves with more advanced problems.
Thinking Cap Strategy

Thinking Cap Strategy

Students wear an imaginary "Thinking Cap" when tackling challenging problems, signaling focus and concentration. Once they solve the problem, they 'remove' the cap—building a routine of discipline and confidence.
The Counter Point System

The Counter Point System

Students earn points for: Helping a weaker student (+1 point) Answering a question correctly (+1 point) Completing a problem within the time limit (+1 point) Making an attempt, even if wrong (+1 point) This system motivates students through teamwork, persistence, and personal growth.
Tech-Enhanced Learning

Tech-Enhanced Learning

Utilizing interactive quizzes, gamified learning, and digital progress tracking, we make math lessons more engaging and fun, keeping students motivated while simplifying complex concepts.
